Legislative Description

Employment of individuals with disabilities. Increases the number of members and changes the membership of the commission on rehabilitation services (commission). Makes changes in the terms of service of commission members and requires the governor to specify each member's term of service to ensure that terms expire on a staggered basis. Adds the following to the commission's duties: (1) Establish baseline data regarding the number of individuals with disabilities in competitive integrated employment and set annual goals for increasing the percentage of individuals with disabilities in competitive integrated employment. (2) Identify and resolve barriers to employment for individuals with disabilities.
