Congratulates Matt Bertram, a Castle High School graduate, on being named a 2016 All-American Scholar-Athlete by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)

Recognition requires nomination by head coach who is an NSCAA member, a cumulative grade-point average of 3.75 or better on a 4.0 scale through first semester of senior year, demonstrated excellence in high school soccer, and community service at local, regional, or national level

Only 34 male players from across the country were named All-American Scholar-Athletes in 2014-2015, with Bertram being one of three finalists for Indiana Boys' Soccer Player of the Year and a two-time Indiana Soccer Coaches Association all-stater who posted six shut-outs for the Castle Knights (11-8-0 record)

Bertram balanced multiple athletic commitments in soccer and baseball with a full academic course load and is now a freshman at the University of Southern Indiana
