Honors Mark A. Schroeder, Chief Executive Officer of German American Bancorp, for being named one of three 2016 Community Bankers of the Year by American Banker Magazine's "Best in Banking" series.

Schroeder earned a degree in financial management from the University of Evansville while working at German American Bancorp and completed studies at the Stonier Graduate School of Banking as a certified public accountant.

Under Schroeder's leadership beginning in 1999, German American Bancorp achieved six consecutive years of record earnings and became a three billion dollar asset company recognized as one of the most consistently profitable banks in the country.

Schroeder was one of 12 community bankers nationwide invited to meet with President Barack Obama at the White House to discuss local economies and small business lending challenges.

Directs the Secretary of the Senate to transmit a copy of the resolution to Mark A. Schroeder.
