Carmel High School boys swimming and diving team won the 2017 IHSAA state championship on February 25, 2017, at the IUPUI Natatorium, marking their third consecutive state title and 18th overall state title.

Junior Drew Kibler won the 100 freestyle (new state record) and 200 freestyle (new state and national record) titles.

Freshman Wyatt Davis won the 100 backstroke title, becoming the first freshman to win the event since 1985.

The team set a new state record in the 200 freestyle relay (Andrew Couchon, Stefano Batista, Drew Kibler, and Charles Vaughan) and won the 400 freestyle relay (Brett Sherman, Wyatt Davis, Drew Kibler, and Charles Vaughan).

Head coach Chris Plumb earned his sixth state championship title with the boys team and 17th overall state title with the Carmel swimming and diving program; the Indiana General Assembly commends the student-athletes for balancing academics and athletics.
