Carmel High School boys tennis team won the 2016 IHSAA state championship on October 15, 2016, at North Central High School in Indianapolis with a 4-1 victory over three-time defending champion North Central High School

Team completed an undefeated 17-0 season and defeated Bloomington North 5-0 in the semifinals before the championship match

Junior Patrick Fletchall won the individual singles state championship with a 4-6, 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) victory at No. 1 singles and did not lose a match all season; seniors Jay Natarajan and Ethan McAndrews won the individual doubles state championship

Team accomplished the rare feat of winning the team state title, individual singles title, and individual doubles title in the same season—only the third time in high school tennis history and first since 1996
