Indiana Senate honors Gretchen Weber for winning the "Salute Indiana!" bicentennial competition sponsored by Indiana Daughters of the American Revolution

Weber's four-line verse won the competition on October 19, 2016, selected by a panel of five judges from 112 entries

Winning composition reads: "O, blue and gold, with torch of old, / Enlighten our path with hope. / Hoosiers, we look up to thee / And pledge our all to liberty."

The Indiana flag was first publicly greeted with Weber's salute on October 29, 2016, at a statewide gathering of approximately 300 Indiana Daughters of the American Revolution members

Secretary of the Senate directed to transmit a copy of the resolution to Gretchen Weber and Indiana Daughters of the American Revolution
