Honors John Gerni on his retirement and recognizes his career accomplishments in public service and the life insurance industry.

Gerni earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University in Telecommunications with minors in Business/Economics and Uralic Studies.

Served as Field Representative to Senator Dan Quayle from 1985-1987 and Regional Director for Northeast Indiana for Senators Quayle and Lugar beginning December 1986.

Worked as Vice President of Legislative and Regulatory Management for Lincoln National Corporation from 1990-2003, where he helped shape Indiana's investment law for life insurers and served as Chairman of the Political Action Committee and Legislative Committee for the Association of Indiana Life Insurance Companies.

Directs the Secretary of the Senate to transmit a copy of the resolution to John and Karen Gerni.
