Indiana General Assembly congratulates William Henry Harrison High School boys soccer team on winning the Indiana High School Athletic Association Class 3A state championship with a 3-2 victory over Castle High School at IUPUI's Carroll Stadium.

The third-ranked Raiders finished the 2017 season with a record of 20-1-2, capturing the school's first state title in any sport since 1995.

Team overcame injuries, an early season loss to the state's number one-ranked rival, and an early deficit in the championship game to achieve their goal of becoming state champions.

Jesus Hernandez scored his first goal of the season to give the Raiders a 3-1 lead, and two-time team captain Pete Newton won the C. Eugene Cato Mental Attitude Award.

Principal Clerk of the House will transmit a copy of the resolution to all team members, coaches Miles Madren, Kevin Riley, Michael Love, and Fred Grandlienard, head coach Bryan Clouse, athletic director Jerry Galema, Principal Cory Marshall, and Superintendent Dr. Scott Hanback.
