Urges the Indiana Department of Transportation to rename a segment of U.S. Highway 421 from the Jefferson/Ripley County line to the junction with State Road 62 as the "Major Samuel Woodfill Memorial Highway."

Major Samuel Woodfill was the only Medal of Honor recipient from Indiana during World War I and served his country for more than 40 years across the Philippine-American War, World War I, and World War II.

On October 12, 1918, at Cunel, France, Woodfill reached machine gun bunkers three times while under heavy German fire, killing or capturing enemy soldiers each time.

General John Pershing, Commander of the American Expeditionary Forces, lauded Woodfill as "the greatest American Soldier of the World War," and he later served as a pallbearer at the Unknown Soldier's burial in 1921 and for Pershing in 1948.

Passed the House on February 19, 2018 (91-0) and received a favorable report from the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Transportation on February 27, 2018.
