Honors Kent and Shelley Johnson for their outstanding contributions to Hoosier youth and their community.

Shelley Johnson has taught for more than 30 years as a teacher, Music Department Chair, and Director of Choral Music at DeKalb County High School.

Kent Johnson serves as treasurer, worship leader, and elder at First Christian Church, and has been drama director and technical director of show choirs at DeKalb High School since 1987, and vice president of the DeKalb Outdoor Theater.

The Johnson family contributed to creating one of the most successful show choir programs in the Midwest and country, making DeKalb High School known for award-winning show choirs and hosting the largest invitational in the Midwest.

Shelley and Kent have received numerous awards including the Allen Graber Citizen of the Year award, Medal of Arts Award from the Auburn Arts Commission, and Education Award for Leadership from the Fort Wayne Business Weekly.
