Urges the legislative council to assign medical marijuana as a study topic to the interim committee on public health, behavioral health, and human services during the 2018 interim.

Directs the study committee to examine the appropriateness of allowing patients with chronic, incurable, terminal, or treatment-resistant diseases to receive medically-supervised therapies involving marijuana.

Requires analysis of therapeutic potential of marijuana chemical components and marijuana-derived compounds through delivery methods other than inhalation or ingestion.

Mandates examination of other states' experiences with medical marijuana, including impacts on addiction treatment, youth abuse rates, public safety, workplace and traffic accidents, workforce practices, and government revenue and expenditures.

Committee on Public Health reported the resolution favorably with a vote of 11 yeas and 0 nays on January 18, 2018.
