Born November 7, 1938, in Brooklyn, New York to Arthur Carl and Agnes (Johnson) Swenson; died January 16, 2018, in Michigan City, Indiana.

Drafted by the San Francisco Giants in 1958 as an amateur baseball player and graduate of Brooklyn Boys High School; played for the Artesia Giants and Michigan City White Caps.

Married Lottie (Novak) Swenson on November 19, 1960; worked in the wine and spirits industry for 53 years before retiring in 2015.

Established the Michigan City Saints baseball team, served as president of the local Catholic Youth Organization, coached the Michigan City Red Devils varsity baseball team, and coached New Buffalo High School to a state baseball championship in 2005.

Served as Michigan City Common Councilman and Michigan City Area Schools board member; Principal Clerk of the House shall transmit a copy of this resolution to his family.
