South Newton High School 4-H soils judging team of Austin and Hayden Berenda, Chyenne Deno, and Gracie Kindig earned first place in the Senior 4-H Team category in the 2017 Indiana 4-H/FFA soils judging contest.

South Newton High School 4-H soils judging team of Kendell Arseneau, Andrew Kindig, Kyle Weiss, and Todd West earned fourth place in the Senior 4-H Team category in the 2017 Indiana 4-H/FFA soils judging contest.

Hayden Berenda earned first place in the Senior 4-H Individual category in the 2017 Indiana 4-H/FFA soils judging contest.

Both teams qualified to compete in the national soils judging contest in Oklahoma in May 2018.

The Indiana House of Representatives congratulates the South Newton High School 4-H soils judging teams and directs the Principal Clerk to transmit a copy of the resolution to team members, teacher Darrell Allen, principal Charles Huckstep, and superintendent Casey Hall.
