Chesterton High School debate team won the Indiana High School Forensic Association (IHSFA) state championship, earning their 5th consecutive title and 28th overall state championship.

Team scored 111 total points, setting a new record for total points at the state meet, with 32 students competing across five debate events.

Students competed in Policy Debate, Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Congressional Debate, Public Forum Debate, and World School Debate, with individual placements ranging from champions to quarterfinalists.

Coaches Chris Lowery, Joshua Coots, Dakota McCoy, Kaley Brown, and Michael Anderson led the record-setting team.

The Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives will transmit a copy of this resolution to each team member, coach, Principal Jeff Van Drie, and Superintendent Dr. Ginger Bolinger.
