Representative Kathy Kreag Richardson, first elected in 1992 to represent House District 29, is retiring at the end of the 2018 legislative session.

Richardson was the first woman in Indiana history elected to a leadership position in the Indiana House and served as Republican Caucus chairwoman since 2000.

She served as chairwoman and vice chairwoman of the Elections and Apportionment Committee and as a member of the Legislative Council, Judiciary Committee, Courts and Criminal Code Committee, and other statutory committees.

Richardson led legislative efforts on election-related issues including online voter registration, centralized counting of absentee ballots, and countywide vote centers, and played a leading role in the state's redistricting process.

The House of Representatives bids farewell to Richardson and directs the Principal Clerk to transmit copies of the resolution to her and her family.
