The Indiana General Assembly congratulates the Purdue University football team on winning the 2017 Foster Farms Bowl with a 38-35 victory over the University of Arizona Wildcats on December 27, 2017, at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Purdue became bowl eligible for the first time since 2012 by defeating Indiana University 31-24 in the Old Oaken Bucket game under first-year head coach Jeff Brohm.

Sophomore quarterback Elijah Sindelar earned offensive Most Valuable Player honors with 396 passing yards and 4 touchdowns, and senior linebacker Ja'Whaun Bentley earned defensive Most Valuable Player honors with 8 tackles and a sack.

The bowl victory marks Purdue Football's first winning season since 2011 and represents a remarkable turnaround season for the team.

The Secretary of the Senate shall transmit copies of this resolution to Purdue head coach Jeff Brohm and athletic director Mike Bobinski.
