Indiana General Assembly congratulates Nick Goepper on winning the silver medal in men's freeski slopestyle at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea.

Goepper was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1994, began skiing at age five at Perfect North Slopes, and attended Windells Academy in Oregon on a full-ride athletic and academic scholarship.

Goepper previously won bronze in freeski slopestyle at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, the first-ever Olympic medal in that event, and achieved a qualification score of 92.8 to rank fifth out of twelve athletes in the 2018 finals.

Goepper scored 93.6 in his final run at PyeongChang with multiple technical maneuvers including rail tricks and jumps, earning the silver medal.

Secretary of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this resolution to Nick Goepper, and the assembly wishes him well for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing, China.
