Senate Resolution Summary

• Congratulates Evelynn Byrum of Twelve Mile, Indiana for being named one of six Distinguished Finalists for the Prudential Spirit of Community Award as one of Indiana's top youth volunteers for 2018.

• Recognizes Byrum's community service efforts coordinating races and "trunk-or-treat" events from 2013 to 2018 to support individuals affected by cancer and research through partnership with Purdue University's cancer research center.

• Notes the Prudential Spirit of Community Award is the United States' largest youth recognition program based solely on volunteer service, with the program having honored more than 120,000 volunteers since beginning in 1995 in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals.

• Directs the Secretary of the Senate to transmit a copy of the resolution to Evelynn Byrum.
