Recognizes "Farmworkers Awareness Week" and acknowledges March 31 as the birthday of Cesar Chavez, honoring his nonviolent organizing efforts for fair wages, safe labor conditions, and farmworker dignity.

Recognizes the contributions of Indiana's over 30,000 year-round, seasonal, and migrant farmworkers whose labor contributes billions of dollars annually to the state's agricultural economy.

Acknowledges Proteus, Inc., an Iowa-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving migrant and seasonal farmworkers, immigrants, and others since 1979 with offices in Iowa, Indiana, and Nebraska.

Directs the Secretary of the Senate to transmit a copy of the resolution to the Kokomo chapter of Proteus, Inc.

Committee on Rules and Legislative Procedure approved the resolution unanimously on March 12, 2018 with a vote of 9-0.
