Senate Resolution 3529 Summary

• The Indiana Senate congratulates WSLM Radio on its 65th anniversary of radio broadcasting in 2018.

• Don H. Martin founded WSLM 1220 AM and began broadcasting on February 14, 1953, after equipment theft delayed the original Christmas Day 1952 launch date.

• WSLM operates at 5,000 watts as the largest AM station in Southern Indiana and one of the few U.S. AM stations broadcasting in AM Stereo, reaching 3.6 million people across Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, and Kentucky.

• Rebecca White, Martin's daughter, took ownership in 2011 and expanded operations by launching WSLM 97.9 FM in 1992 and WRLW TV in 1994.
