John B. German was born October 9, 1930, in Barnwell, North Carolina, and passed away February 20, 2018.

Served honorably in the United States Air Force and was discharged in 1953.

Elected to represent the 4th District of Anderson City Council in 1975 as the first African American city councilor and helped bring public housing to Anderson.

Active member of Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church and held leadership positions in multiple Masonic organizations, including receiving the Honorary 33rd Degree of Scottish Rite Masonry in May 1974.

Indiana Senate directs the Secretary of the Senate to transmit copies of this resolution to his surviving wife Jackie German and daughters Tanya Hudson, Natasha Edwards, Elena Wise, and Jacquelyn German.
