Applicants must provide certification from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or appropriate military branch confirming eligibility

Placard holders are exempt from metered parking fees and cannot be penalized for exceeding time limits at metered spaces

Placard design requirements: gold with blue lettering, includes international wheelchair symbol, expiration date, and ability to hang from rearview mirror

No fee charged for the placard or for replacement if lost, stolen, damaged, or destroyed; placard may not be used for commercial vehicles
