Candidates for legislative office must now file campaign finance reports electronically with the election division, in addition to the existing requirement for state office candidates.

The election division must provide free training to legislative and state office candidates to enable electronic filing of campaign finance reports.

Committees required to file electronically include: state office candidate committees, legislative office candidate committees, and political action committees receiving more than $50,000 in contributions since the previous reporting period.

The election division must provide standardized software at no cost for electronic filing, though it is not required to modify software for compatibility with specific computers.

Effective date: July 1, 2019.
