Indiana House Concurrent Resolution memorializing Dorothy Weitz Drummond, an educator, author, and world traveler who passed away on November 30, 2018, at age 89

Drummond was a geography educator who taught at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College and Indiana State University, authored world culture textbooks and encyclopedia articles, and served as president of the National Council for Geographic Education in 1990

Founding member and longtime board member of the Geography Educators' Network of Indiana (GENI), established in 1983, promoting geography education in school curriculums

Traveled to more than 80 countries and served as a Fulbright Scholar with her husband at the University College of Mandalay in Burma during the 1957-58 academic year

Active in Terre Haute civic affairs, including resettling Vietnamese refugees, establishing the local Bread for the World chapter, and planning the original Banks of the Wabash Festival
