Indiana Task Force One is one of 28 federal urban search and rescue teams, consisting of 70 cross-trained personnel serving in search, rescue, medical, hazardous materials, logistics, and planning functions

Created in 1992 and sponsored by the City of Indianapolis under the Indianapolis Fire Department along with 29 participating agencies, primarily from central Indiana

Deployed three times within Indiana for tornado response in Klondike, Evansville, and Henryville, and nationally for events including the Oklahoma City bombing, September 11 World Trade Center attack, and multiple hurricanes (Katrina, Harvey, Irma, Maria, Olivia, Florence, and Michael)
