Became the first African-American coach at an integrated school in Indiana at Indianapolis Wood High School, compiling a 139-59 record over eight seasons

Inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame (1994) and Anderson University Athletic Hall of Fame (1997), and honored with a statue at Anderson High School in 2016
