Pilgrim Baptist Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana held its first organizational meeting on March 2, 1919, in the home of Mr. Charlie Collins, with Rev. Frank L. Brown elected as the first pastor

The congregation initially worshipped from 1919 to 1923 in a converted ice house that was originally a tool shed for the Irmscher Construction Company

Rev. John Dixie, Jr. served as the fourth pastor for 43 consecutive years beginning in 1931, building a strong foundation for the growing congregation

Rev. Sam Shade, Jr. led the church for 42 years starting in 1975, overseeing continued growth and construction of the current place of worship

Rev. Raymond C. Dix, Jr. became the sixth pastor in 2017 and will receive copies of the resolution commemorating the church's centennial anniversary
