Indiana House of Representatives honors Paul "P.G." Gentrup for his work assisting and recognizing veterans and their families for their service

Gentrup served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from November 1966 onward and later worked for Seagram's Distillery and Indiana & Michigan Power

Organized and continues to arrange trips to Washington, D.C. for hundreds of Southeastern Indiana veterans from World War II, Korea, and Vietnam to observe national memorials and monuments, beginning with one-day flights in 2010 followed by three-day bus trips

Volunteers as a member of the Ceremonial Honor Guard conducting military graveside services for deceased veterans and arranges recognition of Purple Heart veterans at Lawrenceburg's Fall Fest and Aurora Farmers Fair

Recipient of the Dearborn County Community Foundation Hearts of Gold award and honored as a Hometown Hero by the Cincinnati Reds
