Charles Conrad Beckner (December 13, 1920 – February 17, 2009) was born in Princeton, Gibson County, Indiana and served in the U.S. Army starting in 1937 before transferring to the U.S. Navy in 1939 as a medical corpsman

Served with Motor Torpedo Boat Squadron Three (MTBRON-Three) in the Philippines and was a crew member on the mission that evacuated General Douglas MacArthur and his family from Corregidor to Mindanao on March 11, 1942

Awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action during the MacArthur evacuation mission, a Purple Heart for wounds received on May 6, 1945, a Bronze Star for meritorious service in 1993, and Presidential Unit Citation Ribbons for three different units

Retired in 1969 as the most senior ranking Chief Warrant Officer 4 in the U.S. Navy

Indiana General Assembly memorializes Beckner and directs the Secretary of the Senate to transmit a copy of the resolution to his family
