IN HB1024

Establishes the veterinary medicine student loan repayment program and fund, administered by the Indiana State Board of Animal Health, effective July 1, 2026

Eligible recipients include licensed veterinarians and registered veterinary technicians who are Indiana residents and U.S. citizens with outstanding student loans from accredited veterinary programs

Recipients must agree to practice full-time in Indiana providing essential services, with priority given to underserved rural areas and food animal practice specialties experiencing workforce shortages

Fund sources include general assembly appropriations, federal and private grants, and donations; money does not revert to the general fund at fiscal year end

Requires biennial reports to the governor and general assembly starting July 1, 2027, evaluating program impact on veterinary service delivery in Indiana
