IN HB1090

Requires the Indiana Attorney General to obtain written approval from the Governor before filing any amicus curiae (friend of the court) brief in state or federal court proceedings

Applies to all amicus briefs filed on behalf of the state, regardless of the case subject matter or court level

Amends IC 4-6-3-2.1 and IC 34-33.1-1-2 to add the gubernatorial approval requirement to existing law governing state amicus filings

Effective date: July 1, 2026
