Expands the definition of "treatment of a mental illness or substance abuse" to include services provided by mental health counselor associates, licensed social workers, marriage and family therapist associates, clinical addiction counselor associates, and interns/trainees pursuing licensure in medicine, psychology, or behavioral health fields

Requires insurance coverage for these additional provider types regardless of whether the provider is in-network or out-of-network

Amends two sections of Indiana Code (IC 27-8-5-15.8 and IC 27-13-7-14.2) affecting both accident and sickness insurance policies and individual/group health contracts

Effective date: July 1, 2026
