Property owners associations cannot prohibit members from displaying the U.S. flag or Indiana state flag, including from flagpoles up to 20 feet tall in front yards, though HOAs may impose reasonable requirements for flag condition, flagpole materials, and compliance with federal flag display standards

HOAs are prohibited from installing or operating automated license plate readers, unless installed by law enforcement with only law enforcement having access to the captured data

HOAs cannot adopt rules that restrict motor vehicles or outdoor equipment (lawn mowers, leaf blowers, trimmers) based on fuel source, and local governments face the same prohibition on fuel-source-based regulations for vehicles and machines

Counties and municipalities are prohibited from adopting ordinances requiring mandatory reporting of utility usage data (electric, gas, water, wastewater) for buildings, effective after March 15, 2026

Political subdivisions within 5 miles of primary, national, or regional airport runways must adopt airspace overlay zoning ordinances by one year after receiving a draft from the airport (airports must provide drafts by July 1, 2028)
