Municipal works boards must establish a policy allowing property owners who filed waivers for deferred installment payments to prepay their assessments in full

Property owners may pay the entire assessment balance at any time after the first year following their waiver filing, plus all interest due at the next payment period

New provision allows property owners to pay in full at any time, including within the same year the waiver was filed, with applicable interest

Full payment of assessment and interest releases the property lien and ends all interest and liability on the assessed property

Effective July 1, 2026; amends IC 36-9-37-14 of the municipal Barrett Law
