IN HB1302

Repeals the requirement for employers hiring 5 or more minors (ages 14-17) to register with the Department of Labor and maintain a public database of such employers

Removes civil penalties for employer failure to register minors and eliminates the requirement to use labor education fund money for maintaining the employer database

Eliminates the "belt examiner" certification category for coal mine workers, removing it from definitions, examination requirements, and certification provisions

Removes the requirement for county election boards to register as employers under youth employment laws when appointing minors as election workers

Effective date: July 1, 2026
