State educational institutions and nonprofit colleges/universities may develop academic career pathways and bridge programs to help current and former military health care personnel achieve civilian health care credentials in reduced time.

Programs must integrate military training and experience using Department of Defense SkillBridge occupational crosswalks for 27 specified military health care specialties, including combat medic, hospital corpsman, practical nursing specialist, pharmacy specialist, and radiology specialist.

Participating institutions must submit annual reports to the legislative council by September 1 detailing program completion times, graduation rates, and employment rates of military health care personnel graduates within 12 months of graduation.

Institutions must coordinate with the U.S. Department of Labor and Indiana Department of Veterans' Affairs to recruit and enroll military health care personnel into these programs.

The Indiana Professional Licensing Agency must collaborate with participating institutions to integrate these military pathways into state licensure requirements; effective July 1, 2026.
