Naval Support Activity Crane is the third-largest naval installation in the world, hosting multiple military commands including the Naval Surface Warfare Center and Crane Army Ammunition Activity

The installation originated in 1941 as the Naval Ammunition Depot at Burns City, Indiana, established under the first National Defense Appropriation Act
