Family lineage traces to William "Bill" Hosea, born in Marengo County, Alabama in 1815, with descendants participating in the Great Migration from the rural South to the urban Midwest

Biennial family reunions began in the mid-1960s in Gary, Indiana, founded by matriarch Lealer White-Hosea and her ten daughters

Family reconnected in 2022 with relatives from Bloomington, Illinois, leading to formation of the Hosea Family Association Inc., an Indiana-certified nonprofit providing mentoring and youth scholarships

Principal Clerk of the House directed to transmit copies of the resolution to State Representative Cherrish Pryor for distribution
