Indiana House Resolution recognizing the 15th Annual Bill Johnson Black Film Festival, sponsored by African American Achievers Youth Corps, Inc. and dedicated to Gary native and actor William L. Johnson

Festival scheduled for February 20-21, 2026, featuring student film premieres on Friday morning and independent films throughout Friday evening and Saturday evening

William L. Johnson is a graduate of Emerson School for the Visual and Performing Arts in Gary with over 20 film credits including "Blue Hill Avenue," "Motives 2," "The Black Hamptons," and "Crossover"

Festival aims to provide wholesome entertainment for Northwest Indiana, expose the community to quality Black films, and facilitate discussions surrounding film messages

Resolution directs the Principal Clerk to transmit copies to African American Achievers Youth Corps, Inc. and William L. Johnson
