Public schools and charter schools must present a water safety informational video annually to all students in kindergarten through grade 12, effective July 1, 2026

Indiana Department of Education must approve separate water safety videos for three grade level groups: K-6, grades 7-8, and grades 9-12

Videos may be developed by nonprofit organizations or individuals committed to water safety and swimming instruction

Required video content includes the flip, float, and follow method; awareness of water conditions; safe behaviors in and around water; and the importance of pool barriers, fencing, and formal swim lessons
