Regional water, sewage, or solid waste district boards must notify the district authority in writing before modifying district purposes, abandoning plans, or increasing board membership

Appointed trustees to district boards serve at the pleasure of the appointing authority and can be removed at will

Districts created after June 30, 2026, must obtain county fiscal body approval before incurring any indebtedness, including leases, contracts, bonds, and public-private partnership obligations

Multi-county districts created after June 30, 2026, must obtain approval from each county fiscal body where the district has territory before incurring debt

County fiscal bodies have 60 days to approve or deny a district's request to incur indebtedness
