Alice Wong, an artist, editor, and disability justice activist, passed away on November 14, 2025, at age 51

Graduate of Carmel High School, earned a bachelor's degree from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis in 1997 and a master's degree from the University of California, San Francisco in 2004

Received a MacArthur Foundation fellowship ("genius grant") in 2024 for her writing and advocacy work on behalf of the disabled community

Edited two essay collections: Disability Visibility, First-Person Stories from the Twenty-First Century (2020) and Disability Intimacy: Essays on Love, Care, and Desire (2024)
