Senate Resolution 53 formally recognizes Solar Opportunities Indiana (SOI), a coalition of municipalities, advocacy groups, post-secondary institutions, faith-based organizations, and renewable energy experts focused on solar access for low-income and disadvantaged communities

SOI provides education and outreach on solar installation while reducing or eliminating up-front costs and financing gaps for eligible Indiana households

Coalition projects include micro-grids, rooftop solar, resiliency hubs, infrastructure updates, rural library partnerships, and workforce development programs—all currently at risk due to lack of funding after over two years of planning

The resolution directs the Secretary of the Senate to transmit five copies to Solar Opportunities Indiana
