Served as Chief of Trauma Surgery at Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis for 26 years as a faculty member at Indiana University, becoming known as a "father figure for trauma care" in Indiana

Former president of the Pan-American Trauma Society who mentored thousands of students, doctors, nurses, and paramedics and taught Advanced Trauma Life Support courses worldwide

Secretary of the Senate directed to transmit a copy of the resolution to Senator Andrea Hunley
