Local authorities with jurisdiction over city residence districts may reduce the maximum speed limit from 30 miles per hour to 25 miles per hour without conducting an engineering and traffic investigation

Previously, any speed limit changes in residence districts required an engineering and traffic investigation under K.S.A. 8-1560

Speed limits in residence districts cannot be reduced below 20 miles per hour under any circumstances

The bill amends K.S.A. 8-1560 and takes effect upon publication in the statute book
