Secretary for Aging and Disability Services shall provide training and expand opportunities for peer support specialist certification through contracted third-party entities, subject to appropriations

Creates two certification levels: Level one specialists limited to 30 billable hours per week; Level two limited to 40 billable hours per week with training capped at 8 sessions per year and 50 in-person participants per session

Recipients of peer support services limited to 300 hours per year unless prior authorization is obtained from their managed care organization

Kansas Bureau of Investigation criminal history background checks required for all certification applicants, along with checks of abuse, neglect, and exploitation registries

Certified peer support specialists authorized to provide services via telehealth with Medicaid reimbursement; Secretary of Health and Environment directed to seek federal CMS approval and amend the state Medicaid plan
