Mandates all employees working with memory care residents complete department-approved, standardized dementia care training (available online) covering communication, psychological/social/physical needs, non-pharmacological treatments, and safety measures, with annual continuing education

Certified facilities must provide activity programs tailored to dementia residents, including a mix of group, one-on-one, and self-directed activities designed for individual needs

Facilities voluntarily relinquishing certification must provide 60 days notice (30 days if fewer than 10 residents affected), submit a transition plan to the department, notify residents and representatives, and remove all dementia care references from marketing materials
