Adds sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, and veteran status as protected classes under the Kansas Act Against Discrimination, joining existing protections for race, religion, color, sex, disability, national origin, and ancestry

Extends protections across employment, public accommodations, and housing, prohibiting discrimination by employers with 4+ employees, labor organizations, employment agencies, landlords, real estate brokers, and lenders

Defines "sexual orientation" as actual or perceived heterosexuality, homosexuality, or bisexuality; "gender identity or expression" as gender-related identity, appearance, or characteristics regardless of sex at birth; and "veteran" as someone discharged from active military service under non-dishonorable conditions

Requires state and local government contractors to agree not to discriminate based on the newly added protected classes as a condition of public contracts

Amends 12 sections of Kansas statutes (K.S.A. 12-16,107, 44-1001, 44-1002, 44-1004, 44-1005, 44-1006, 44-1009, 44-1015, 44-1016, 44-1017, 44-1027, and 44-1030) and takes effect upon publication in the statute book
