Contributions received from January 1 after a general election through the primary election date are allocated to the primary election; contributions from 12:00 a.m. on primary election day through December 31 after the general election are allocated to the general election

Candidates nominated by convention or caucus use the convention/caucus date as their primary election date for contribution allocation purposes

Campaign accounts for candidates who lose or choose not to seek reelection must be terminated within 90 days after the second subsequent general election for that office

Campaign accounts holding more than $1,000 or with aggregate liabilities exceeding $1,000 are exempt from the automatic termination requirement

Amends K.S.A. 25-4149 and K.S.A. 2025 Supp. 25-4190, taking effect upon publication in the statute book
