Child placement agencies (as defined in K.S.A. 65-503) that contract with the Secretary for Children and Families would be included under the Kansas Tort Claims Act as "governmental entities"

Coverage applies only if the agency had an active contract with DCF at the time the act or omission giving rise to the claim occurred

Employees of qualifying child placement agencies would receive the same liability protections as state and municipal employees

Amends K.S.A. 75-6102 and takes effect upon publication in the statute book
